Rumford Fireplace Update

This update shows the cast iron damper set in place with Heatstop refractory mortar and the offset Superior Clay smoke chamber. The offset smoke chamber allows the flue liners to be installed at less steep angle to clear the firebox that will be constructed on the second floor slab. The remaining photos show the progression of laying the liners, backup block and the cmu shell, horizontal and vertical steel and grout. The void in the cmu above the firebox opening ( 2nd photo) is for the steel mantle.
