The last three days I have been building the scaffold to go from the the 2nd floor to top out height, 30 ft. tall from current grade level. This scaffold design and build has been a challenge because there is only 4'8" from the side of the house to the retaining wall and fence. Scaffold is usually 7' wide from front to back ( with mason walkboard hangers) and 7' or 10' wide per section. I had to use special short braces and cut down the walkboards to make the scaffold fit in such a small space.
Tomorrow I will wrap the scaffold with reinforced plastic sheeting to weather proof the setup. I can then get back to work laying the 2nd floor firebox, flue liners and the CMU chase. The Roust-A-Bout lift is able to lift 2000lbs. 25 ft. high. Not quite high enough to reach the top level of scaffold, but way better than carrying all the material up the scaffold by hand.
